Thank you to all who entered an essay in the 2008 Excellence in First-Year Writing contest. With so many instances of smart and interesting and varied First-Year Writing, we had a hard time choosing the winner and honorable mentions. However, Professor Sullivan is pleased to announce that this year's first-place winner and recipient of the $100 gift card to Northeastern's Barnes and Noble bookstore is:
